Congratulations to Mike and Natalie who this month had their first child, a bouncing baby girl called Alice. The plan is to quickly integrate her into the boutique retail market and to make sure she plays better tennis than her father.

BC Commercial have acquired the first UK coffee shop on behalf of Kahve Dunyasi (www.kahvedunyasi.com) at 200 Piccadilly, London. The property is over 5,600 sqft on ground and basement. Alongside KD’s own brand coffee their offer will include hand made chocolates and sweets.
Kahve Dunyasi have over 80 stores across Turkey and are known as one of the biggest coco suppliers in the country. The store is currently fitting out and expects to open in September 2011.
Acting on behalf of Cordea Savills, BC Commercial have acquired the Virgin Active in Thundersley, Essex. The property at 200 Rayleigh Road, Thundersley is let for 25 yrs from June 2004. The property shows a Net Initial Yield of 7.00%.
Purpose built in 2004, facilities include a 25 m indoor pool and full spa.
Flight Centre have relocated on Deansgate in Manchester to take a prominent corner location at 10/12 St Mary’s Gate. Flight Centre’s new premises extend to 3,050 sq ft where they have take a new 10 year lease at a rental of £170,000 pax. Flight Centre are on site fitting out.
The new bigger Flight Centres are following on from the successful trading of the megastores on Oxford St, London and New St, Birmingham. A further 10 stores are required for 2011.
On behalf of DVS Investments, BC Commercial have sold a retail warehouse investment in Crowborough, East Sussex. The 28,000 sq ft property was occupied by Tesco for a further 14 years paying a rent of £395,416 pax.

Acting on behalf of Threadneedle, BC Commercial have agreed a surrender and simultaneous re-letting of 48 High Street, Harpenden to ladies wear retailer East.
East will take possession in August of the premises which extend to 1,825 sq ft. East have signed a new 10 year lease paying a rental of £55,000 per annum exclusive which is record rent (Zone A) for the town.
